Breakfast at Mcdo IT Park!

Restaurant: McDonalds
Branch: Asiatown IT Park Lahug
Restaurant Type: FAstfood
Food: Burgers, Fries and Rice Meals (American)
Mode of Payment: Cash

August 22, 2009. Before we head down to Abs Cbn Studio for Kapamilya Winner Ka, we had Breakfast at Mcdonalds IT Park, where the meeting place was set. I had my fave snack munch, the 50php cheap yet yummy Crunchy Chicken Sandwhich which comes with a regular softdrink! With that I also ordered the 25php Pineapple Pie. I miss my Fave Taro Pie, too bad Mcdonalds Phased it out! huhu

I was lucky that day because I get to have a big chunk of chicken patty on my burger! weeeee. Sometimes, the chicken patty is so small that its mostly crunch on every bite(meaning all breadings, hehehe).

Shake ordered the Big Breakfast with Rice, which she said costs around 80php. And whats so big about the BIG BREAKFAST? hmmmm. Its a small beef Patty topped with Fried Omelet. hmmmmm.

Out of Africa Pub and Bistro!

Restaurant: Out of Africa Pub & Bistro
Branch: Skyrise 1 Asiatown I.T. Park Lahug Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food: African
Mode of Payment: Cash/ Card

August 24, 2009. It was a scheduled iLearners Meeting and we decided to dine at the 8 day old branch resto in Skyrise 1, Out of Africa! We were greeted by the owner who grew up in Africa and had brought the recipes back here in Cebu.

We had Vetkoek(Price:65php, but it was compliments of the owner) , African bread, for appetizer which came with 3 different dips, barbeque, Garlic and Pepper! I love the Garlic Dip!

Under the appetizer Category was the Trinchado Sizzling Sirloin Tips (Price: 150php). Mozambique Beef Strips cooked in creamy garlic, red wine and mild spicy sauce. The order came with rice. Is it right that its under the Appetizer Category even if it was served with rice? hmmmm

We also had the "Platter of 4" (Price: 650php) which has 6 pcs. of grilled chicken, 1 slab of pork spare ribs smothered in honey barbeque sauce, cucumber salad and Potjie African Stew. For some reason I find African dishes a little different, with familiar tastes, but wouldn't register. The African stew tasted like corned beef with pepper sauce. hehe. Something different I must say!

Chai ordered House Salad dressed in Balsamic Vinaigrette. I love Balsamic Vinaigrette! The serving was a little small though.

If that really how food tastes in Africa, I must say that it's a little blunt for our MSG and salty Filipino taste. But spices and herbs gave each of the dishes character and unique taste. And the interiors I must say is very jungle-ish that gives you a Safari feel in some way!

Yellow Cab

Restaurant: Yellow Cab
Branch: Banilad Town Center(BTC) Banilad Cebu City
Food: Pizza
Restaurant Type: Fastfood
Mode of Payment: Cash

August 21, 2009. Before going home after partying at Formo's 4th Anniversary Celebration, we headed at Yellow Cab to mnch on some midnight snacks! Ron, Anthony, Pao and I ordered our Fave Manhattan Meat Lover's Pizza(545php for a Large Pizza) and Yellow Cab Strawberry Ice Cream(price: 95php)!

Carnivore as I am, I just love Manhattan Meat Lovers! All my fave pizza toppings on one pizza: Ham, pepperoni, Italiand Sausage, ground beef, salami and bacon! Good luck to my TriGlycerides! hihihi

We were craving for something cold so we ordered the strawberry ice cream, and of course considering the tin can, we didn't hesitate buying one! LOL. The ice cream tasted like the strawberry in those 3-in-1 ice cream sold for 99. hehehe

Bigby's Cafe!

Restaurant: Bigby's Cafe
Branch: 3rd Level The Terraces Ayala Center Cebu
Food: Grill, Pasta, Salad (Mixed Ethnic, American, Italian, Mexican)
Restaurant Type: casual Dining
Mode of Payment: Cash/Card
Contact Number: (63-32) 2342495

August 20, 2009. Edd, Shake, Choi and Zen were chillin at the Terraces waiting for me to log off from work. It was already 830pm and my wormies are now grumbling! And we are off to Bigby's Cafe!

Since everyone else have already eaten their dinner, I was the only person who ordered an entree. For appetizers, I ordered a Full Tijuana Quesadilla with Mexican Chicken (Price: 185php). Flour tortilla flavored with cheese and garlic and with Mexican Chicken! The Fresh Salsa made this appetizer delectable.

I ordered Rodeo Chops( Price: 220php). Two large slices of porkchops marinated and grilled side dished with buttered string beans. You could choose between gravy or cranberry for your sauce. The meat was tender but it's texture was dry. And the marinate was overpowered by the cranberry sauce that you could barely taste the meat marinate. : (

Edd and Choi ordered Strawberry Shake(Price: 65php)! Frozen strawberries blended with crushed ice and topped with a piece of strawberry fruit! Mmmmmm!

And a photo requested by the peeps on the counter! LOL

And my kapigouts that night!

Lemon Grass!

Restaurant: Lemon Grass
Address: The Terraces Ayala Center Cebu
Food: Vietnamese, Thai
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Mode of Payment: Cash/Card

After iLearners Inc. Ocular in Sibonga, Shake, Pao, Greg and I went to the Terraces to meet Edd. I bought 1/2 kilo of chicharon from Carcar on our way home, which 1/4 kilo was devoured by the 4 of us on our way back to the city. We arrived at Ayala Center Cebu at around 830pm and all of us were starving! Since the 4( Shake, Pao, Greg and I) of us can barely have our minds working because of hunger, Edd chose where to dine, Lemon Grass!

I love Thai food but I am not a big fan of Lemon Grass : |
That was my 7th time dining at Lemon Grass, first time was during their opening years ago and 5 times were treats from officemates and friends and 7th was that night Edd chose to dine there.

For our appetizer, we had Po Piah Todd (Deep Fried Thai Spring Rolls, Price: 135php) . This dish made me crave for Thai Street food which I never miss to eat when am in Thailand. Lemon Grass's Version of Thai Spring roll almost had the same taste with the street spring rolls I had in Khao San Road but original Thai street spring rolls sold at 25baht per serving tastes better, but have to fly to Thailand to get that though! LOL. Poh Piah Todd is made of shrimp, pork, mushroom, veggie and mung bean noodles.

5 of us shared the Binagoongan Rice (Price: 130php) served in a triangular bowl which had made a mess on the table everytime we scoop rice into our plate. Hahaha. Thinking about it, the right way to get rice from that bowl is to place the bowl on top of your plate then scoop the rice into your plate to avoid the messy situation. Binagoongan Rice is made of Jasmine Rice cooked in pork cubes and fermented shrimp paste with roasted nuts, topped with cilantro, egg strips and green mango strips. Though I barely noticed tasting nuts on it.

Pad Thai(Price: 195php)! Lemon Grass's Pad Thai was actually good, it just lacked the spicy sweet taste of the authentic Pad Thai. And it was a little bit salty too, which I and Pao noticed. Probably too much fish sauce. Mildly spiced Rice noodles with shrimps and chicken bits topped with roasted nuts, herbs and sprouts. and the sprouts were crunchy and fresh, yum!

Chicken Green Curry (Price: 220.00php). This green cury is spicier than "SIAM's (Thai resto in Ayala)" green Curry. Surprisingly for me, eggplant actually complemented well with the taste of the curry. hehe.

House drink! hehe. Citrus and Herbs Lemonade (Price: 185 per pitcher serves 4-5)! Green and sunny lemons, cucumber and mint leaves! A very light and refreshing drink! Ahhhhh!

Contact Number: (63-32) 5168069

August 16, 2009. It was Edd's (my younger bro) costume burpday party! I booked tables for 30peeps to celebrate my bro's 23rd Burpday! For starters, we had Quesadilla(Price: 110.88php). Love the pinoy style of their sweet-sour salsa!

One of our main entrees was the Baby Back Ribs(Price: 200.48)! Tender but a little bit dry textured meat in a sweet-mild peppered sauce. One of my Tara's fave!

We also had Creamy Sizzling Squid (212.80php). Tastes like Bicol express! : )

Lemon Chicken (166.88php)! Tender breaded Chicken strips drizzled with Sweet Lemony Sauce! It used to have lots of lemon sauce but our orders, they barely had the sweet lemony sauce. : (

Another Tara's Cafe Fave of mine is their Roast Beef (Price: 222.88php)! Tender roast beef strips with a semi-smokey taste topped with semi-sweet gravy side dished with potato chips, cucumber slices and carrots.

Tara's chopsuey(Price: 168php) was a so-so dish. Am a big fan of Chopsuey and for some reason Tara's version was just okay. Chowking and Jacobo's Bistro are the restaurants that serves the best chopsuey for me!

I love House Specialty Drinks! And one of my House Specialty pitchered drink fave is Mambo No. 5! Cucumber, Orange, lemon, apple and calamansi on a apple-calamansi tasting juice mix.

DESERTS! Banana Split(Price: 168php). A small banana Cut into half with scoops of Vanila and strawberry Ice Cream sprinkled with marshmallow and drizzled with choco syrup.
This one I love! Choco Moist Cake(Pric:56php). Moist cake in a creamy icing topped with Choco shavings and drizzled with choco syrup!

Choco Fudge Cake(Price: 50.40php)! tasted like brownie with 2 choco cream between 3 layers of cake and choco fudge on top!

Yakiniku @ Tempura

Restaurant: Tempura
Address: Sm Northwing North Reclamation Area Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food: Japanese, Yakiniku
Mode of payment: Cash/Card

August 15, 2009. It was Edd's birthday, MYOH 09 and SM Mallwide sale! Traffic was so heavy that it'll take you at least 30minutes just to find a parking space! wheeeew! Edd, Greg, Shake, Malot and I were starving after buying some stuff and decided to have yakiniku at Tempura.

We had California Maki (125php for 8pcs.) for our appetizer. I find Tempura's version of Cali Maki better than Teriyaki Boy! Tempura's California Maki has bigger slices of sweet mango and crab and I love their Japanese Mayo!

Shake and Greg were so hungry and can't wait for our yakiniku sothey ordered Katsudon (150php).

We ordered Tori(chicken, price: 195php) and buta (pork, price: 195php) Yakiniku! Loved the Buta Yakiniku! Thin pork strips marinated in special Japanese soy sauce!

And Kaisen Raisu(130php) tasted great! Semi chili- semi sweet with corn kernels, crunchy string beans and carrots topped with anchovies.

After our piggin out session at Tempura, we were then off to Jed Madela's Concert at the Waterfront!

Mooon Cafe!

Restaurant Name: Mooon Cafe
Branch Address: 2nd Level The Terraces Ayala Center Cebu 6000
Food: Mexican, Steaks, Pizza (Mexican, mixed ethnic but mexican infused)
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Mode of payment: Cash/Card

August 13, 2009. Greg has to give me the papers for iLearners Inc. which Cathy and Kara signed that morning after their morning show "Maayong Buntag Kapamilya" on ABS CBN so Atty. Ethelbert can finalize them. It was already 830PM and my wormies are crying out loud for some pig out session! We then decided to eat at Mooon Cafe after a 15-minute debate on where to dine. hahaha

We started the meal with chimichanga (84php). Semi-chili ground beef in sour cream, cheese and salsa wrapped in a crisp tortilla and topped with iceberg lettuce. It should have been better if there was cayene pepper on the ground beef. : )

Pork Sisig (140php). Fattening! hahaha. Pork Liver, tendons and other stuff, and topped with cheese? For me the cheese killed the taste!

I ordered my Mooon Favorite, Mooon BBQ(120php)! 6 sticks of Pork Barbeque marinated in semi sweet sauce! Yum! Doyzkie recommends this! : )

Greg's pick was Beef Tips(170php)! Beef tips(Sauteed) and served in a sizzling plate topped with gravy and onion rings. A hint of chili and semi sweet gravy.

And for our drink, large order of SUN COOLER (php130)! Sugar based liquid(tastes like Tang, hehehe) with lemon, calamansi and watermelon!

And yeah, Mooon Cafe is one of a few restos with Bag hangers on their tables so you don't have to let your bag sit on a chair when your dining at Mooon! Weeeeee. And another thing, I hope management can do something about the often(not all the time, but often. hehehe) lousy service. hahay!
