Singapore Speacial: Pasta Fusion

Restaurant: Pasta Fusion Olive Vine
Address: 2nd Level Bugis Junction Singapore
Restaurant TYpe: Casual Dining
Food: American, Italian (Pasta and chops)
Mode of Payment: Cash

September 3, 2009. Had lunch at Bugis Junction before I go for a stroll in Arab Street. I had tried Pasta Fusion with Edd, Ken and Geof during our backpacking trip last November 2008 and went back for a second try. As far as I can remember, I enjoyed my meal during my first taste so had thought of going back again.

I had the pork steak in olive rice (Price: SGD10/340php) with soup and garlic bread. You'd notice, food is a serious business in Singapore. Pasta Fusion is just in a Bugis Food Court yet they prepare the food fresh and hot! And I love the tender meat spiced in pepper gravy sauce!

I also enjoyed the creamy asparagus soup!

Habhab sa Jacobo's Bistro!

Restaurant Name: Jacobo's Bistro (pronounced as Hacobo's)
Address: Block 8 Lot 3, Asiatown IT Park Apas lahug Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food: Pasta, Salads, soups, sandwhiches, noodles (Filipino, American)

August 9, 2009. It's iLearners Inc. Incorporators Night! The signing of papers was scheduled at dinner time at Jacobo's Bistro. We have called the management for the reservation so they could prepare a table for us and told them that we will be using a projector for our presentation. But unfortunately there was no white screen for us to use for our presentation. huhu and worst part is that there is no electric outlet to plug the laptop and the projector. So we have to use the plug across our table which people kept on tripping over. Lesson learned (Jacobo's is not suitable for meetings, it's a place to chill out)!

I have already met the owner and the manager of Jacobo's last month because of the blog I made about Jacobo's Bistro during their second day of opening in Cebu! And I have to admit I love their Crispy Pata (Price: 295php) and their Carribean Fruit Punch(Price: 100php)!

We had Bistro Fries(Price: 170php) for our appetizer. Fresh potato slices deep fried til golden brown and poured with cheese spread (tastes like Cheez Whiz, hehe).
Pesto and Tuna Spaghetti (should be Fettuccini, not spaghetti), has a good pesto taste with minced & crushed fresh basil leaves, crushed garlic, parsley, grated hard cheese and olive oil.

Salt & Peppered Spare Ribs(Price: 175php)! hehe. One of My Jacobo's Fave, though the serving we had last night wasn't that good as before. Sweet-peppery taste! Great as a beer muncher!

Pepper Crusted Tuna Steak (Price: 295php). It's cooked medium rare in a pepper crust. The pepper cancels the fish aftertaste. Am not a fan of fish dishes though. : )

And Carribean Fruit Punch (Price: 200php) is made out of citrus fruits! Very fresh and tangy! Though I would prefer Tara's Mambo number 5 over this pitchered drink. Nonetheless it tastes great! I love oranges! hehe

Cafe Georg!

Restaurant: Cafe Georg
Address: Ground Floor MLD Bldg., Banilad Cebu City, 6000 Philippines
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food: Salad, Grill, Pasta (Mixed Ethnic)
Phone : +63 32 2340887
Store Hours:
Monday - Saturday: 11:00 a.m. -- 11 p.m.
Sunday:11:00 a.m. -- 9 p.m.

6th of August, 2009, Chai, Edd, Nike and I were suppose to have a dinner meeting for our event this October 31st called Satin Eclipse. But Nike was stuck at a seminar at Coca Cola Plant, so it turned out to be just dinner. hehehe. And Greg joined the Pigout session that night!

I have to admit am a fan of Cafe Georg! I love how they use different herbs and spices on each entree making each dish unique. The chef/owner must've travelled a lot and incorporated it to the entrees on the menu. You'd notice the entrees on the menu is of different ethnicity (but mostly of European Ethnicity).

The place is cozy with warm lights and mellow music!
New on the Menu is Pork Chops with Tomato Basil Salsa (Price: 190php). This was Edd's pick which I, Edd and Chai shared. The Lemony Tomato and Basil Salsa compliments well with the tender yet a bit dry porkchop. It would have been better if there were a little bit more of the salsa. Nonetheless it was a good entree.

My pick was the California Salad (Price: 180php), which is my favorite salad in Cafe George. Crab sticks, Cucumbers, lettuce and Mangoes in a creamy sesame sauce. Yum!

Another personal Cafe Georg favorite is Cafe Georg's Classic Pork Belly(Price: 180php). Thin Pork belly slices in a sweet peppery sauce just the way I like it!

Barcelona (Price 220php) was Chai's pick. My first time to taste a fish dish at Cafe George. The steamed fish fillet in Spanish Paprika butter is a little bit oily so be sure to squeeze those lemon slices! The entree actually was quite good, that is if your a fan of fish entrees. Goes well with a rootbeer drink, doesn't it Chai? hehe

We ordered Mocha Slush( Price: 90php), Strawberry Shake(Price: 120php) and Avocado Shake (Price: 80php) for our drinks! Strawberry shake is made out of Strawberry Syrup( tastes very much like Hershey's Strawberry Syrup) which of course is sweet and topped with whipped cream.

The Seasonal Avocado Shake! ahhhh! Fresh Avocado in a Shake. Nothing Special though, just plain Avocado shake. hehehe
And for our dessert, Choco Bailey's Pana Cotta(Price: 100php)! Two Layers of Italian Custard: Swiss dark chocolate topped with Baileys Pana Cotta! Now am craving for another serving of Choco Baileys! hahaha. raaawr! Choco Baileys Pana Cotta = Love!

Ti Amo Roma Mia!

Restaurant: Roma Mia, i2 bldg. Asiatown I.T. Park Branch, Lahug Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food Class: Pasta, Pizza, Grill (Italian/American)

31st July 2009, after attending the SM Northwing Wifi Launch, Edd, Sinjin, Shake, Jorich and I went to I.T. Park to meet Pao and have dinner. I love Roma Mia's Godfather Chops in herb Sauce so I suggested we eat there. We have eaten at Roma Mia countless times but this is the first time I blog about Roma Mia. hehe

I and Sinjin ordered Godfather Chops in Herb Sauce(Price: 198php), Shake ordered Godfather Chops in Gravy Sauce (Price: 170php) and Edd ordered Mobster Meal(Price: 160php: an IT Park Exclisive) Baby Back Ribs with Iced Tea (Price: 70php).

If you like herbs then you will love Roma Mia's Godfather Chops in Herb Sauce. Minced Herbs (probably Thyme, Ground Pepper and Oregano) in olive oil! The tender meat of the chops compliments well with the herbs. Side dish are a corn slice, 2 short carrot sticks and 2 short bean sticks. I ordered a glass of refillable Iced tea with my chop.

As for the Godfather Chop in gravy sauce, tender chops in a bed of semi sweet gravy. Side dish is corn slice, 2 short carrot sticks and 2 short bean sticks.

Baby Back Ribs grilled but not overdone and brushed with sweet barbeque sauce! Side dish is 2 short carrot blocks. But would personally prefer Tara's Cafe Version over Roma Mia's Baby Back Ribs.

I just love Roma Mia's Godfather Chops. I have ordered both chops(in herb sauce and gravy sauce) at their Ayala Branch, though their's a little inconsistency with the porkchop size and quantity of the sauce, and would say have to say both are my favorite chops of all time! hehe

But of course, not everyone loves herbs right? If you don't like herbs, then definitely you'd not be pleased with Godfather chops in herb sauce. Order the Godfather Chops in Gravy sauce instead. : )

Service at Roma Mia would sometimes go lousy though, which i think is the downside of the resto. Nonetheless, would go back for those yummy and flavorful Chops!
