Yogu: Everything Yogurt

Name: Yogu
Address: #11 Gov. M. Cuenco, Banilad, Cebu City
Product: Yogurt, Yogurt Crepes and Yogurt Smoothies
Mode of Payment: Cash

It was 12midnight as Shake, Edd, Greg and I were craving for some frozen Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus treat so we stopped at the new yogurt place in Banilad named " Yogu!" After the sad closing of "Yogurt Place" in A.S. Fortuna, we had to find another good yogurt place. The little yogurt place is visible as it is situated along Banilad Highway.

Yogu's frozen yogurt treats comes in two serving sizes, Regular Cup ( 70php) and Large Cup (95php). Toppings are also available priced at 15php each topping and 30php for 3 toppings of your choice. Fruit toppings like mango, kiwi, strawberry, mandarin oranges are a few of your choices. Toblerone, Baby Ruth, cereal, choco pillows are some of the sweet treat topping choices.

Unlimited syrup! If you like your yogurt sweet, then help yourself with these sweet flavored syrups! And yes their free and unlimited!

I like "Frozen Yogurt" in A.S. Fortuna better though because their frozen yogurt tastes much more like yogurt. Yogu is much cheaper though. Too bad "Frozen Yogurt" shut down.

Yogurt Smoothies (price ranges from 115php-125php depending on the flavor) and Yogurt Crepes ( price ranges from 105-135php depending on the flavor). Before leaving the store ,don't forget to ask for your frequency card wherein you get a regular cup with 3 toppings on your 10th visit.

Maya Taqueria & Tequila Lounge

Restaurant: MAYA
Address: Crossroads Banilad Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining (Very Close to Fine Dining though)
Food: Mexican
Mode of Payment: Cash/Card
Phone Numbers: (63-32) 2389552/ (63-32) 2389618
Website: Mayacebu.com

It was another iLearners Board of Trustees meeting and Atty. Ethelbert suggested that we try the hip Maya Taqueria & Tequila Lounge.

We started our dinner with Quezo Fundido (Price: 245php). Fresh Masa Chips with Melted Mexican cheeses & Jalapenos dip. I love Quezo Fundido when eaten in moderation.

We also had Carnitas(Meat) Quesadilla Gringa (Price: 175php)with salsa fresca . I love how the Salsa tasted so fresh.

Carnitas Taco (Price: 265php) is a 6 hour roasted organic pork shoulder. Organic Pork? hehe. I love their Camarones Al Coco( Price: 295php). 5 Crisp Coco Tiger Prawns served with sweet and sour mango sauce. Crisp on the outside but very juicy and tender on the inside.

I ordered Iced Tea for my Drink and it came with a liquid agave sweetener. It's a lighter version of our Pinoy iced tea which is full of sugar. Just refreshing!

Churros Con Chocolate (Price: 145php) tasted fresh. The Hot Churros sprinkled with cinnamon Sugar dipped in hot choco syrup was good. Kara, Greg and Chai said that Hola Espana's Churros are better. Must try Hola Espana!

Puddin de Bananas(Price: 115PHP) tasted like cerelac! hahaha. It had a strong taste of green bananas which I didn't enjoy!

The service at Maya is commendable! Very warm, attentive and friendly staff! The high ceiling, the romantic lighting, the Mayan furnitures and decorations are just great that adds up to a good Mayan Experience! And with how fresh the food tastes, they must've used fresh and quality ingredients that justifies the price. Will be back to taste those tequila! Raaaaawr!

We were craving for something cold so we ordered the strawberry ice cream, and of course considering the tin can, we didn't hesitate buying one! LOL. The ice cream tasted like the strawberry in those 3-in-1 ice cream sold for 99. hehehe

Cafe Georg!

Restaurant: Cafe Georg
Address: Ground Floor MLD Bldg., Banilad Cebu City, 6000 Philippines
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food: Salad, Grill, Pasta (Mixed Ethnic)
Phone : +63 32 2340887
Store Hours:
Monday - Saturday: 11:00 a.m. -- 11 p.m.
Sunday:11:00 a.m. -- 9 p.m.

6th of August, 2009, Chai, Edd, Nike and I were suppose to have a dinner meeting for our event this October 31st called Satin Eclipse. But Nike was stuck at a seminar at Coca Cola Plant, so it turned out to be just dinner. hehehe. And Greg joined the Pigout session that night!

I have to admit am a fan of Cafe Georg! I love how they use different herbs and spices on each entree making each dish unique. The chef/owner must've travelled a lot and incorporated it to the entrees on the menu. You'd notice the entrees on the menu is of different ethnicity (but mostly of European Ethnicity).

The place is cozy with warm lights and mellow music!
New on the Menu is Pork Chops with Tomato Basil Salsa (Price: 190php). This was Edd's pick which I, Edd and Chai shared. The Lemony Tomato and Basil Salsa compliments well with the tender yet a bit dry porkchop. It would have been better if there were a little bit more of the salsa. Nonetheless it was a good entree.

My pick was the California Salad (Price: 180php), which is my favorite salad in Cafe George. Crab sticks, Cucumbers, lettuce and Mangoes in a creamy sesame sauce. Yum!

Another personal Cafe Georg favorite is Cafe Georg's Classic Pork Belly(Price: 180php). Thin Pork belly slices in a sweet peppery sauce just the way I like it!

Barcelona (Price 220php) was Chai's pick. My first time to taste a fish dish at Cafe George. The steamed fish fillet in Spanish Paprika butter is a little bit oily so be sure to squeeze those lemon slices! The entree actually was quite good, that is if your a fan of fish entrees. Goes well with a rootbeer drink, doesn't it Chai? hehe

We ordered Mocha Slush( Price: 90php), Strawberry Shake(Price: 120php) and Avocado Shake (Price: 80php) for our drinks! Strawberry shake is made out of Strawberry Syrup( tastes very much like Hershey's Strawberry Syrup) which of course is sweet and topped with whipped cream.

The Seasonal Avocado Shake! ahhhh! Fresh Avocado in a Shake. Nothing Special though, just plain Avocado shake. hehehe
And for our dessert, Choco Bailey's Pana Cotta(Price: 100php)! Two Layers of Italian Custard: Swiss dark chocolate topped with Baileys Pana Cotta! Now am craving for another serving of Choco Baileys! hahaha. raaawr! Choco Baileys Pana Cotta = Love!
