Bistro's New Texas Bake Pasta

Restaurant: Pizza Hut Bistro
Address: SM Northwing North Reclamation Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food Class: Pasta, Pizza, Grill ( Mixed Ethnic- American, Italian, Spanish)

After E and Edd's Law class, we then met at SM Northwing for dinner. It was already 9:10pm and most restos were closed so we decided to dine at Pizza Hut Bistro. Since Shake, Greg and I already had our dinner at Don Merto's, we didn't order and became the official food tasters and scavengers of the night! LOL

My family and I usually dine at Pizza Hut Bistro after buying our groceries because my nephews and my neice love cheezy puff pizza! And everytime we dine at Bistro, there would be at least 2 orders of pasta, 1 order of salad, 1 family size pizza and 2 main entrees. Servings at Pizza Hut Bistro usually serves 2 basing on a Filipino diet.

My favorite pasta, so as with Edd and my sister, is Garlic and Shrimp Pasta. The winey-garlicky sauce infused with herbs and olive oil is heavenly! Sprinkled with minced parsely and topped with sauteed tropical shrimp!

The waiter had offered E the New Texas Baked Pasta and E was eager to try it! Spiral pasta in meatsauce topped with mozzarella cheese and strips of red bell pepper. I tasted a spoonfull of the texas bake and for some reason it tasted like pizza. : ) . Same as Bistro's Meatsauce Spaghetti and lasagna, it tasted like pizza to me.I guess it's because they use the same tomato sauce/paste and mozzarella cheese on both their pizza and pasta that's why they taste so alike. I am not a fan of Bistro's Meatsauce-based pastas because I don't like my pasta to taste like Pizza! But Pizza Hut's Lasagna Pizza is great!ME LUV LUV!

A Hearty Meal at Don Merto's

Restaurant: Don Merto's Deli and Resto
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food: Steaks, Salads, Soups ( American/Italian)
Address: SM Northwing Branch North Reclamation Area Cebu City
Contact Number: +63.32.253-5563 | +63.32.253-5564

After Shake and I had Komodo Dragon Press drinking session at Starbucks, we then headed to Don Merto's for dinner. I ordered chicken asparagus soup and a quarter pounder Hearty Burger.

I started the meal with Ciabatta (Italian Bread) with butter spread.

Then I tried the Chicken Asparagus Soup (Price: 100php), my first time to order this at Don Merto's. The aroma of the soup was a combination of fresh spring onion and chicken broth. At first sip, a strong chicken taste clouded my mouth, which I did not enjoy. It was oily and tasted very close to chicken essence.

And my main entree, Don Merto's Quarter Ponder Hearty Burger (Price: 130php)! This is my 3rd time to order a Hearty Burger. I just love the soft Juicy beef patty! It's patty has a hint of ground pepper cancelling the greasy and oily after taste of the beef patty. Cheese, Grilled onion rings, lettuce and tomatoes are sandwhiched between the buns and the patty. Coleslaw, fries and Tomato catsup are served with the Hearty Burger.

And for dessert, everyone's all time favorite, BELGIAN CHOCOMINT COOKIES (Price: 597php for 600grams)! As per Greg, "Its Chocolate with cookies!" hahaha. Amazingly Delicious!

And yeah for those who love roast beef, you would enjoy the Don Merto's Eat All you Can Angus Roast Beef on Wednesdays and Eat all you can Prime Rib on Fridays! : )

Ti Amo Roma Mia!

Restaurant: Roma Mia, i2 bldg. Asiatown I.T. Park Branch, Lahug Cebu City
Restaurant Type: Casual Dining
Food Class: Pasta, Pizza, Grill (Italian/American)

31st July 2009, after attending the SM Northwing Wifi Launch, Edd, Sinjin, Shake, Jorich and I went to I.T. Park to meet Pao and have dinner. I love Roma Mia's Godfather Chops in herb Sauce so I suggested we eat there. We have eaten at Roma Mia countless times but this is the first time I blog about Roma Mia. hehe

I and Sinjin ordered Godfather Chops in Herb Sauce(Price: 198php), Shake ordered Godfather Chops in Gravy Sauce (Price: 170php) and Edd ordered Mobster Meal(Price: 160php: an IT Park Exclisive) Baby Back Ribs with Iced Tea (Price: 70php).

If you like herbs then you will love Roma Mia's Godfather Chops in Herb Sauce. Minced Herbs (probably Thyme, Ground Pepper and Oregano) in olive oil! The tender meat of the chops compliments well with the herbs. Side dish are a corn slice, 2 short carrot sticks and 2 short bean sticks. I ordered a glass of refillable Iced tea with my chop.

As for the Godfather Chop in gravy sauce, tender chops in a bed of semi sweet gravy. Side dish is corn slice, 2 short carrot sticks and 2 short bean sticks.

Baby Back Ribs grilled but not overdone and brushed with sweet barbeque sauce! Side dish is 2 short carrot blocks. But would personally prefer Tara's Cafe Version over Roma Mia's Baby Back Ribs.

I just love Roma Mia's Godfather Chops. I have ordered both chops(in herb sauce and gravy sauce) at their Ayala Branch, though their's a little inconsistency with the porkchop size and quantity of the sauce, and would say have to say both are my favorite chops of all time! hehe

But of course, not everyone loves herbs right? If you don't like herbs, then definitely you'd not be pleased with Godfather chops in herb sauce. Order the Godfather Chops in Gravy sauce instead. : )

Service at Roma Mia would sometimes go lousy though, which i think is the downside of the resto. Nonetheless, would go back for those yummy and flavorful Chops!

Not Crazy for Crazy Crepes!

Crazy Crepes
Address: SM Northwing North Reclamation Area Cebu City
Food: Crepes

31st of July, 2009, I and my CBS friends were given each a coupon for a Crazy Choco Crepe and a bottled water. The coupon does not include the ice cream though so we have to add another 20php for it. I was asked by the cashier if I would have the Choco or the Cookies and Cream Ice cream and chose Cookies and Cream!

I had a chance to taste Crazy Crepes ones during their opening (I think that was 2 years ago) with my brothers and sad to say I wasn't very pleased with my Mango Nutella Crazy Crepe, since mangoes on it were sour! My brothers didn't enjoy theirs as well. And had always thought of not coming back. But since I was given a free coupon then I have to make use of it, right? hehe

I am a big fan of crepes, specially when there are mango chunks or chocolate on it, served warm and with vanila ice cream on top! But Crazy Crepes doesn't make me that happy. Maybe the their using the regular flour for their crepes.

But I have to commend their staff for being effective and very smiling. CBS(Cebu Bloggers Society) group went there together (about 20people) but they still were handling us well, very effective indeed. The way they make their crepes are organized and clean too. Also there are a huge variety of crepes from the simple choco crepe to strawberries & Nutella Crepe!

Am not crazy for Crazy Crepes though.

Here are a few pics of CBS members enjoying their Choco Crazy Crepe!
